ClubTrace Privacy Policy

Your swing videos stay on your iPhone. ClubTrace sends anonymous usage statistics that are not linked to you.

Swing videos you record or import are processed entirely on your iPhone and are never uploaded. ClubTrace uses the camera only to record swings, and Photos only to import videos you choose and to save the results you ask it to save. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking.

Usage statistics

From version 1.1, ClubTrace sends anonymous usage statistics to PostHog, our analytics provider, so we can see which features are used and how well the tracing works. They include the kind of events that happened (for example, a swing was analysed, or a video was saved), the frame rate and size of the video, how long the analysis took, how many swings were saved in a session, how long the app was open, your iPhone model, and your app version.

They do not include your videos, images, file names, location, contact details, or anything you type. They are not linked to your name, your Apple ID, or any account. A random identifier, created on your iPhone and kept in its Keychain, tells one phone from another, so it stays the same if you delete and reinstall the app; it is not your Apple advertising identifier or any other Apple identifier. We do not use these statistics to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and ClubTrace does not ask to track you.

Occasionally ClubTrace shows a short optional survey (your handicap range, where you practise, and what you want from the app). Your answers are anonymous too, and you can dismiss it.

Reporting a trace

If a trace looks wrong, you can choose Report this trace in the player's share menu. ClubTrace opens an email to contact@apexsofteng.com with that video attached and your app version and iPhone model. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send, and we use the video only to improve the tracing.
